News & Updates from Sound Sports Performance and Training LLC! 📰
September is here, and with it comes the return of school, fall sports, professional development, and plenty of opportunities to stay active and connected throughout our community. Here’s what’s happening at Sound Sports Performance and Training this month.
📚 BACK TO SCHOOL: SEPTEMBER 1–4
The school year is officially underway! We’re excited to welcome our student-athletes back and help them start the year strong.
Whether your athlete is preparing for a new sports season, looking to build strength and confidence, or simply developing better movement habits, we’re committed to helping them become stronger, healthier, and more capable athletes.
Let’s make 2026–27 a great year!
🚨 LABOR DAY CLOSURE
Monday, September 7
Sound Sports Performance and Training will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day. We’ll resume our normal schedule on Tuesday, September 8.
🏒🥎 WE’RE ABOUT TO GET REALLY BUSY!
September is going to be a busy month at Sound Sports Performance and Training, and we’re excited about it!
We’ll be welcoming back the Fury 16U Black Fastpitch Softball Team while also adding the Fury 16U White squad to our training schedule.
And after Labor Day, get ready for the flock of Seattle Red Hawks Jr. Hockey teams to return to the facility. This year, we’ll be working with six teams and approximately 90 athletes!
That means our evening schedule is going to look—and feel—a little different over the next few weeks.
🙏🏾 A LITTLE PATIENCE GOES A LONG WAY
With this many athletes coming through the doors, we’re asking our members for a little patience and understanding during the first couple of weeks of September as we work to accommodate all of these youth athletes while continuing to provide the quality training experience our adult and individual clients expect.
With new faces also comes the opportunity to improve.
We’re using this transition to upgrade some of our systems, schedules, and personnel to help us better serve everyone who walks through our doors.
We know change can sometimes be an adjustment, but we’re confident these improvements will make Sound Sports a better facility for everyone in the long run.
Stay tuned…we have some things in the works!
🏋🏾♂️ NSCA WORK FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER
September is going to be a busy month professionally, and I’m excited to continue contributing to the strength and conditioning profession through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
September 12–13 | CSCS Exam Prep Clinic
I’ll be co-teaching the NSCA CSCS Exam Prep Clinic at Seattle University on September 12–13.
The clinic provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge and practical skills assessed on the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) examination.
Registration is still open:

September 15 | NSCA Track & Field SIG Meeting
On September 15, I’ll also be co-hosting the NSCA Track and Field Special Interest Group meeting via Zoom.
The Track & Field SIG provides an opportunity for coaches and practitioners to share ideas, discuss best practices, and continue advancing strength and conditioning for track and field athletes.
📰 PT Quarterly Article Coming Soon!
I’m also excited to announce that an article I wrote with a few friends will be published in Issue 13.3 of PT Quarterly!
For those who may not be familiar with the NSCA, the National Strength and Conditioning Association is a nonprofit professional organization and one of the leading authorities in strength and conditioning education, research, and professional development. The NSCA publishes five academic journals, covering a wide range of topics relevant to strength and conditioning professionals.
PT Quarterly is one of the more accessible NSCA publications, but it is packed with practical information that can benefit coaches, fitness professionals, physical therapists, athletes, and fitness enthusiasts alike.
Our article is currently in the final review phase and is expected to appear in the next issue. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you once it is published, so stay tuned!
🎤 WE’RE A FINALIST — AGAIN!
Yep… here we go again! 😂
Sound Sports Performance and Training is officially a finalist once again for the Impact Pitch Competition!
I know, I know. This is about the fifth time I’ve participated in a pitch competition. At this point, you might be wondering if I just really enjoy standing in front of people talking about my business!
But honestly, I feel really good about this year.
Each time I’ve gone through one of these competitions, I’ve learned something new about Sound Sports, our business model, our community impact, and how to tell our story. This year feels different, and I’m excited about the opportunity to put everything we’ve been building together on that stage.
If you’d like to come out and support us the night of the competition, I’ll have a promo code for discounted tickets available later this week. I’ll share that code as soon as I have it.
And even if you can’t attend in person, there will be another important way you can support us:
🎥 VOTE FOR OUR BEST MARKETING VIDEO!
When the time comes to choose the Best Marketing Video, I would absolutely love your vote!
Your support—whether it’s showing up, sharing our story, voting, or simply cheering us on—means a lot. These competitions give small businesses like ours an opportunity to tell our story to people who may not otherwise know what we’re building here in Lynnwood.

🎒 NEW YOUTH RECREATION SCHOLARSHIP
One of the things I’m particularly excited about is the Foundation’s new Youth Recreation Scholarship.
The scholarship provides up to $200 toward recreation opportunities for children in the Edmonds School District, helping make sure that financial barriers don’t prevent young people from participating in sports, recreation, and other meaningful activities.
This is exactly the type of community impact that makes supporting local organizations so important.

💪🏾 KEEP MOVING FORWARD
September represents a transition for many of us. Summer winds down, school begins, fall sports get underway, and our schedules become busier.
But one thing shouldn’t change:
Make time for your health. Make time for your community. Keep moving forward.
Thank you for continuing to support Sound Sports Performance and Training. Whether you train with us, refer an athlete, attend one of our events, support our community initiatives, or simply follow along, we appreciate you being part of the Sound Sports family.
Train smart. Train hard. Live well.
