News & Updates from Sound Sports Performance and Training LLC! 📰

As we turn the calendar to November, we’re reminded that the year is quickly winding down, but there is still plenty of work to do, progress to make, and opportunities to create! From exciting educational partnerships to athletic accomplishments and community celebrations, there’s a lot happening at Sound Sports Performance & Training. Let’s get into it!
⏰ SOME FRIENDLY REMINDERS
Daylight Saving Time officially ended today, so don’t forget to set your clocks accordingly! With shorter days and darker evenings upon us, there’s all the more reason to get into the facility and get your training in.
Darker days don’t have to mean darker moods! We’ve got bright lights, great energy, and even better vibes waiting for you at SSP&T. Don’t let the changing seasons derail your consistency. Remember, progress doesn’t take a season off!
Also, November 3 is Election Day! Get out there and exercise one of your most important rights. Your voice matters, so make sure it’s heard!
🎓 EDUCATION & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
We’re one step closer to bringing an exciting educational opportunity to life through a potential partnership with Edmonds College!
We’re working toward developing a Certified Personal Trainer program that combines classroom instruction with practical, hands-on application. To be clear, this isn’t another degree program. It’s a certification course designed to prepare individuals interested in entering the health and wellness profession with the knowledge and practical experience needed to get started.
The vision is to utilize Edmonds College classrooms for didactic instruction and our SSP&T facility for hands-on learning. By combining these environments, we can create a more comprehensive educational experience that bridges the gap between theory and practice.
I’ll be meeting with representatives from Edmonds College on Monday, November 2, to continue pushing this initiative forward. Stay tuned!
We’re also partnering with Edmonds College to host a Wellness Workshop on November 17 at 12:00 PM for students. We’re excited to bring some practical health and wellness education to the campus community.
And speaking of educational opportunities, we’ll be participating in the Seattle University Kinesiology Internship Fair on November 10! We’re hoping to connect with a couple of talented future professionals who can join our team for the winter/spring semester. Investing in the next generation of fitness professionals is something we’re passionate about, and we’re looking forward to seeing what connections we can make.
🤝 BLACK OWNED BUSINESS EXCELLENCE (BOBE) EVENTS
I’m honored to serve as an Executive Officer for Black Owned Business Excellence (BOBE), and I’m especially excited to host our final quarterly mixer of the year!
This mixer will be unlike any other we’ve hosted throughout the year. In addition to great food, a live DJ, and plenty of opportunities to connect, collaborate, and network, we’ll be announcing the finalists for the 8th Annual BOBE Symposium Awards!
This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of Black-owned businesses and recognize the entrepreneurs, leaders, and community advocates who are making an impact.
This event also takes place during Elijah Lewis Week, honoring the memory of a young man who was a victim of gun violence in Seattle. It’s an opportunity to come together, celebrate community, and recognize the importance of creating positive change. (Archived link unavailable.)
Come celebrate with us!

I hope to see some familiar faces and meet a few new ones!
🦃 UPCOMING HOLIDAYS: THANKSGIVING & VETERANS DAY
Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Depending on demand, we may open the facility for limited hours on Thanksgiving Day.
I know plenty of you enjoy getting a good sweat in before sitting down for that Thanksgiving feast (and trust me, I understand!). If you’re interested in training that Thursday, please let me know so we can determine whether opening the facility makes sense.
Now, before we start thinking about stuffing our faces, let’s take a moment to recognize Veterans Day.
As a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, I’m honored to have been invited to participate in the Lynnwood City Council’s reading of the Veterans Day Proclamation on Monday, November 9.
I want to personally extend my gratitude to all the veterans who came before me, those currently serving, and those who will answer the call in the future. Your sacrifices, commitment, and willingness to serve deserve our recognition and appreciation.
And speaking of the Marine Corps…
HAPPY 251st BIRTHDAY TO THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS!
To all my fellow Devil Dogs, Semper Fi! Here’s to 251 years of honor, courage, and commitment.

Once a Marine, always a Marine. Oorah!
🥎🏒 TEAM TRAINING: THE GIRLS ARE GETTING IT DONE!
We’re now two months into our training partnerships with the Seattle RedHawks Jr. Hockey teams and Fury Fastpitch softball teams, and the results are already showing!
It’s been exciting to watch these athletes put in the work, develop their physical capabilities, and translate their training into success on the field and ice. The commitment, consistency, and effort they’re demonstrating are exactly what we’re looking for.
Let’s give some well-deserved recognition to our teams:
FURY FASTPITCH
- Fury Black: Went undefeated (6-0) at the USA Softball Scaretastic 16A Tournament!
- Fury White: Took home FIRST PLACE in the 16/18 Silver Bracket at the USSSA Octoberfest Tournament!
SEATTLE REDHAWKS JR. HOCKEY
- 16AA: Tournament Champions at the Pacific Coast Female Rep Classic in Richmond, BC!
- 13A1: Also brought home a championship at the Pacific Coast Female Rep Classic!
Four teams, four incredible accomplishments, and plenty of reasons to celebrate!
We’re proud to play a small part in helping these young women become stronger, faster, more confident athletes. The work doesn’t stop when practice ends, and the results are a testament to what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and families!
💪 FINISH THE YEAR STRONG!
As we head into the final two months of 2026, I want to encourage everyone to stay committed to their goals. Whether you’re a competitive athlete, an Everyday Athlete, or one of our OGs putting in the work to stay strong and healthy, your progress matters.
Don’t let the holidays, darker days, or busy schedules become excuses to lose momentum.
Remember: You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up.
Thank you for continuing to make Sound Sports Performance & Training more than just a place to work out. It’s the people, relationships, and community that make this place special.
Let’s keep building!
Stronger People. Stronger Professionals. Stronger Community.
