Archived June 2026 newsletter, originally sent June 5, 2026. Event notices and time-sensitive offers below reflect that issue date.
As we roll into summer, June is a month filled with celebrations π, new beginnings π±, community events π€, and exciting opportunities for our athletes. There is a lot happening around Sound Sports Performance & Training, so let’s jump right in.
Β
Graduation Season π
Graduation season is upon us, and it is hard to believe that the first group of kids I started training are now all grown up.
Β
To the Class of 2026, congratulations on a job well done. π Watching many of you grow from young athletes into young adults has been one of the most rewarding parts of owning this business. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and you should be proud of everything you have accomplished. Good luck and following seas β in your next big adventure. Whether that means serving in the military π¦ πβ, entering the civilian workforce πΌ, attending a trade school π§, or heading off to college π, know that you will always have a special place here with us.
Once you’re part of the Sound Sports family, you’re always part of the Sound Sports family. β€οΈ

Youth Summer Strength & Conditioning Program πͺπ½ππ½ββοΈ
With the old guard moving on, we’re excited to welcome the next wave of young athletes who are beginning to build their foundation. We’ve already had a lot of new kids start training this spring, and there are plenty more on the way. To help meet the growing demand, we’re launching a pilotΒ Β Β
Youth Summer Strength & Conditioning Program (Archived link unavailable).
Β
The program is designed for athletes ages 10-18 and will feature four daily training times:
β’ 8:00 AM β°
β’ 2:00 PM β°
β’ 4:00 PM β°
β’ 6:00 PM β°
Β
To ensure quality coaching and individualized attention, class sizes will be limited to just eight athletes per session. Packages are now available online and classes can officially be booked. β
Β
I wanted to pilot this program during the summer because beginning in September, Sound Sports Performance & Training will officially become the strength and conditioning facility and coaching staff for the Seattle Redhawks Girls Hockey Club. π
This is an exciting partnership and a tremendous opportunity to support the development of young athletes in our community. More details will be released as we get closer to the season, but one thing is certainβthe evenings around here are about to be a buzz! π₯
Β
Meetings, Meetings, and More Meetings π β
You would think I wasn’t a gym owner with the number of meetings I’ve had this month.
Now, for many of you, meetings are just part of your everyday job, so I know I probably won’t get much sympathy. π
Β
This month has included meetings focused on financial planning and the future growth of the business π, several meetings with NSCA leadership as we welcome new leaders throughout the Northwest region, and a number of conversations with fellow African American leaders who are making an impact in business and our communities.
Β
While meetings aren’t always the most exciting part of the job, these conversations help build relationships π€, create opportunities π, and ensure that Sound Sports Performance continues moving in the right direction.

The impact you make on your children extends far beyond sports, and we appreciate the role you play in helping raise strong, confident young people.

Β
Site Visit and New Interns ππ€
June 29th will be an exciting day for our facility as we welcome a special visitor from Seattle University.
Β
Dr. Butch de Castro, Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, will be visiting Sound Sports Performance & Training. As a site provider for student interns, I am hopeful that his visit will help strengthen our partnership and reinforce our shared commitment to helping students develop professionally and gain valuable real-world experience.
Β
Speaking of students, we will also be welcoming a couple of high school interns from Edmonds School District beginning June 22nd. π Please be nice to them! π They are here to learn, grow, and gain experience, and we’re excited to help them take the next step in their educational and professional journeys.
