Summer is almost officially here, and you and I both know that the PNW does it right when it comes to this time of year! After the crazyness of May, I know I am looking foward to a bit of a slower June.

I wanted to recap and explain a few things that spilled over from May and will roll over to June. In May, we did host a successufl NSCA State Clinic at Henry Jackson High School. One of the major task of being the State Director for the NSCA is hosting these types of clinics each year, and this year has brought some recogonition (keep reading to find out what it was). For those who don't know, this was a beautiful fusion of my professional organization as well as the "side gig" I have working at a high school. We had about 77 participants attend (slightly lower than expected), but a great event.

Austin, Quinten, and three volunteers (Clark, Olivia, and Lauren) also took charge at the Edmonds Health and Fitness Expo. They did a fantastic job representing health, fitness, and the business. Thank you all for that! We also had a good time at the 3rd Annual Kentucky Derby viewing party. Big hats and interesting folks were there, and hopefully you will be there next year also!

May also brought a few setbacks...but more oppritunities to get better. It looks like we were not able to find a new location to move the gym to before the end of the lease. Fear not, we are staying right where we are!!! Although I would love a space that is double this size, it seems that it's not in the card right now, but I am optomistic that change is coming. We contiue to increase our membership, so expansion will be inevitable when the time is right!

On the flip side of setback is oppritunity. We were just awarded a grant to help out Snohomish County Existing Business from Ventures, so expect to see a few new things in our current location. One new thing that we didn't have to pay for with money (but rather time and effort) is a new trophy. I have been informed that I won the NSCA 2023-2024 State Director of the Year. Thank you to those who listened to me ramble on and on about the inner workings of the organization as well as those who have helped streamline some of the changes (at least as this state level). I'll be receiving this award offically in July at the National Conference in Baltimore.
